Sudoku is a combinatorial number-placement puzzle, based on logic. In classic sudoku, the aim is to fill a 9X9 grid with digits so that each column, each row, and each of the nine 3X3 subgrids that make up the grid contain all of the 1 to 9 digits. The puzzle setter provides a partially finished grid which has a single solution for a well-positioned puzzle. Completed games are often an example of a Latin square, with a further restriction on the content of each area. For instance, the same single integer may not appear twice in the same row, column, or any of 9 of the 9X9 play board's 3X3 subregions.
