2048 is mostly played on a gray grid, with numbered tiles that slide using the four arrow keys as a player moves them. Every turn, a new tile with a value of either 2 or 4 will appear randomly in an empty spot on the board. In the chosen direction, tiles slide as far as possible until either another tile or the edge of the grid stops them. If when moving, two tiles with the same number collide, they combine into a tile with the total value of the two tiles that have collided.
